Parents-to-be enjoy thinking their baby will be unique. Often this is expressed by the way the nursery is decorated prior to the baby’s arrival. Little boys have a wide array of crib bedding sets that can set them apart. Whether the parents select a nautical pattern or a pirate theme, there are many selections that say “boy.” Girls, on the other hand, seem to be a little more limited with unique designs.
One of the best ways to create a nursery for the expected little girl is with funky baby bedding that includes a wild zebra pattern outlined in hot pink. Many young parents have a special affinity for the zebra pattern, often using zebra print bedding in the master suite. Few consider the wild design for the first baby girl’s nursery. Perhaps, they think the pattern is too stark or too harsh for the newborn. Nothing could be further from the truth.
In fact, there are soft crib sets in the zebra print that are outlined in pink, some in hot pink while others use a powder pink. Solid pink borders around the zebra pattern soften the look. With crib sets including almost every piece a parent will need in the nursery, some include the comforter and the valences or curtains in the pattern. The bumpers or the crib skirts can be found in solid pink. One of the most attractive and well coordinated sets include the valences in the black and white pattern with the loops in pink. The entire nursery is tied together in color and theme.
For the little boy, there are cheetah patterns decorated with baby blue or with a more neutral green. Even the safari sets offer a funky lion or monkey to liven up the baby bedding. All it takes to create the perfectly funky nursery is a little browsing and an open mind. After all, parents will be spending many hours in the nursery with the newborn. They should create the theme around an idea they will enjoy for a couple of years. If the parents are at ease in the nursery, the baby will be too.
