Decorating your garden can be a lot of fun.  If you like adding a special touch to your outdoor décor, you will love the way outdoor string lights add to the ambiance of your garden at night.  Your garden is the one source of refuge from the outside world.  It is a place where you can go to rejuvenate after a stressful day out in the city.  When you add outdoor lighting to it for the night time, you can enjoy the beauty of your garden even when the sun goes down.  In fact, if you know how to tastefully use lights, your garden can look even more beautiful at night than it does in the day time.  Here are some tips for using outdoor garden string lights to create a warm and magical ambiance.

Umbrella lighting near your pool

If you have umbrellas near your swimming pool, that is the perfect opportunity to use umbrella lighting with string lights.  Wind the string lights up along the pole of the sun umbrella and wrap it around the spokes of the umbrella.  The light will make it look like the umbrella is glowing from underneath.  Not only is this a good way to provide light for the table underneath the umbrella, but when you have three or four of these lit umbrellas, it will make your poolside look absolutely stunning at night.

Light your bushes

Not many people think of putting string lights within bushes.  Most people just use string lights to accent fences and trees.  To put string lights in bushes, place them within the branches, not on top.  This way, when you turn them on, the bushes will seem to glow from within.  Tiny sparkles of light will be visible from different angles, so if you go walking at night, it will look like a thousand fireflies are trapped in the bush, making it glow! If you intend on keeping your string lights up as a permanent decoration, you should get the kind that use led light bulbs.  This kind uses a fraction of the power that incandescent bulbs use and also last five times as long.
