Generally, student laptops do not require various high level features or specifications like that of the business professionals. Most of the work of the students is basically related with certain academic assignments or going through or reading the various information sources.
Thus, student laptops should support the various features required by them like enjoying the movies, videos, music, multimedia content along with their peer groups, and even engage regularly in various social networking sites. Laptops should have facility to do the tasks like: to work on text type documents, excel files, or to prepare presentations, to surf the internet, to access emails, to communicate with social contacts, to play variety of latest games, etc.
Often, students look for the lower budget laptops since they have limited money. Hence, they are ready to compromise on certain specifications or features of the laptop such as basic processor, lower hard disk memory, small screen size, etc. Or as another option, they may look for used laptops or old but refurbished laptops to have further saving.
Since the laptop technologies are changing continuously after every 6 months or a year, majority of the people have become skeptical to go for the latest laptops. Because of the fear of the investments made in such new laptops giving lesser returns and which could be over priced compared to the lifecycle of use of the laptop, they think that it’s a waste of their money for a thing which is getting outdated soon. Thus, people consider it’s safe to go with the best laptops under 500 dollars.
On the other hand, it’s a difficult task for most laptop manufactures to offer the quality and best laptops under $500, due to increasing prices of memory, or other raw materials used. Hence, they are managing it through by juggling or trading off certain hardware or software features.
Thus, the wise customers upgrade their laptops after fall in the prices.
