When you’re installing a hot tub, it doesn’t matter if it is a 2 person hot tub or one for 6 people, you want to make sure that it is costing you so much money that you will stop using it. Of course, a 6 person hot tub will cost you alot more in electricity, but anything that is running such high energy equipment is going to cost you a bundle unless you take certain steps.
The cost of a large hot tub will be cheaper than say a cedar hot tub gazebo but the running of the hot tub itself may cost you about the same.
One of the simplest things you can do to save costs is to keep the cover on your tub when no one is in it. I don’t mean that as soon as someone leaves, to immediately throw the cover on top of it. i do mean that when you are finished for the day, make sure you put the cover on. this will keep more of the heat n and when you need to reheat it you will not have to run the thermostat for so long. Interestingly enough there are some utility companies that will give you discounted electric rates if you use the electricity at off peak hours as well, this may be something interesting to check.
another way to save money is not to waste water, try not to splash too much. this is not a swimming pool where kids have a great time splashing each other. t is much easier to keep the water inside the hot tub than a [ool and you wont have to ad water this way. If you use a timer and set the tub to be on only at certain hours, this will also ensure that you don’t leave it on for hours at a time that you are not even using it. Keep all of the parts of the tub in good running condition which will help the spa run more efficiently as well.
