According to some health blog, prolapsed pelvic organ is one of the most common conditions experienced by women, especially during the aging process. Almost half of the women population who already have children experience prolapsed later in their life.

However, most of them do not seek help from experts that is why it becomes more of an embarrassing and distressing problem.

However, you should know that this condition does not affect women alone, as even men can experience prolapsed, which involves the pubococcygeus muscle or PC muscle. This is the sling-like muscle in between your legs from your pubic bone to your spine. This muscle may slack and can be unable to support the pelvic organs if weakened.

Women may suffer from other types of rectal prolapsed, such as enterocele and rectocele. Enterocele is the prolapsed of the smaller bowel, which is a part of the small intestine that is located behind the uterus. A rectocele on the other hand is known as a prolapsed rectum. This can be diagnosed when the patient complains of having a “not feeling clean” situations. Another common type of prolapsed in women is known as the cystourethrocele. This is when the urethra and the bladder prolapsed along with each other.

If you are starting to leak urine or feel an urgent need to pee, then this could be an indication that you are suffering from urethra or bladder prolapsed. Uterine prolapsed is a known condition when the womb goes down into the vagina. This is considered as the second most common prolapsed and is classified as third grade depending on how worse the womb’s fall is. It can be indicated by a heavy pulling in the pelvic area and the feeling that something is coming or falling out.

Vaginal prolapsed on the other hand occur when the vaginal vault falls on itself. This may occur after women went through hysterectomy. Symptoms may include a heavy sensation or a lump feeling in the vagina, pelvic pressure or pain, back pain and lack of sensation while having sex. For this, it is important that you visit your physician in case any of these symptoms are present.

Some people practice pelvic floor exercises for women in order to prevent these conditions. This is done by contracting and squeezing the pelvic floor muscles and doing it on a regular basis in order to restore its strength. Weakened pelvic muscles is the most common cause of prolapsed or incontinence, so make sure to pay attention on these muscles.
