One of the main advantages of an Amazon Kindle is its large library of books available and the fact that buying and downloading a book is so easy (which could also be a disadvantage if you tend to spend too much on books). You can also download the first chapter of any book for free to have an idea whether you really want to read it.
Books written before 1923 are normally free which means that you have a large selection of classic literature and non-fiction at no further cost. The Kindle can store up to 3500 books that you can access easily at the touch of a button and take them with you wherever you go. On top of that you can also upload books and documents in .PDF files therefore you can take stuff you are studying or working on too. When you get tired of books you can also download some newspapers and magazines.
The Kindle is not larger than a paperback, very lightweight and therefore very portable. You might need to invest in a Kindle cover to protect it from dust and any potential damage especially if you take it around a lot. There is wide selection of Kindle covers and skins online starting from the Amazon website. Something that not everyone might know is that the Kindle has a very robotic voice (male or female as you prefer) that can read your books for you when you are too tired to read. The Kindle is not backlit and therefore if you do not like being read by a robot you will have to have a lamp to read in the dark. You could also find a small clip on lamp so that you can read anywhere. The Kindle is also a very good gift idea for any book lovers especially if they are often on the go.
