Running a mile at least everyday can greatly increase your health and it will also get you in shape and will make you feel more energetic during the day. If you do not run at all right no then I would start out at a mile and then try to increase the distance every week or every other week.
You can start to taper off when you hit the three mile mark. You also need rest if you become an avid runner. Most people run every other day and the ones that really like it try to run six days a week giving their bodies a day of rest. I know this might not be for you but all I ask is to give it a try. Their are a lot of people out there that really hate running but they know how good it makes them feel and they would rather go through a couple of hours of pain each week to feel good throughout the rest of the week.
You also need to be careful when incorporating it alongside of your fitness training. You should be working out three days a week to keep you upper body strong and looking good. You can do all sorts of exercises ranging from doing curls with dumbbells or bench press to strengthen your pecks or you could do pull ups on a pull up bar, and that will strengthen a lot of different muscle areas. Finding the right workout is for you to find out. I can’t tell you which one you will like the best. You could join a gym for a month or just go there for one day and try out all the fitness equipment and see which ones you like the best to purchase for you home.
